Dimethylolbutanoic acid acts as a good crosslinking agent and hydrophilic agent. It is odorless and appears as a free flowing white crystal with the molecular weight of 148.16. With good solubility, it is used to produce water-based high molecule system and widely in water soluble PU system, polyester resin and epoxy ester. It will become a new kind of environment-friendly substitute of 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid.
